  • Multan: 8 terrorists shot dead, 6 escape during operation

    Law enforcement agencies thwarted a terrorism plot late Wednesday. Eight terrorists including those involved in the killing of an intelligence officer and the master mind of Rawalpindi’s Parade Line blast were shot dead while six managed to escape during an operation conducted by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and the Intelligence department in Multan.

    According to sources, action was conducted by CTD on a tip-off by the intelligence department, at the bank of Chenab River, during a secret meeting of Al-Qaeda operatives.

    Terrorists opened fire upon seeing the officials. 8 terrorists were gunned down during the retaliatory fire.

    The terrorists were planning to target the universities of Multan. Those killed include Tayyab, Abdul MAteen, Muneeb, Razzaq, Abdur Rehman, Abudu Jana and Zeeshan.

    A suicide jacket, 2 rifles, 3 grenades and 2 pistols were recovered from the killed terrorists.

    Meanwhile a hunt is underway for those that fled the scene.
