  • CJP Tasadduq Hussain Jilani takes suo moto notice of Islamabad attack

    ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Tasadduq Hussain Jilani has taken suo moto notice of attack on a local court in Islamabad

    which left 11 people dead and nearly 35 others injured. The CJP sought report from IG Islamabad and other concerned authorities and fixed Tuesday for hearing into the incident. Earlier today, a senior judge, four lawyers and six other people were killed when terrorists stormed a local court in Islamabad’s F8 area with hand grenades and suicide blasts during hearing of an important case. 

    The banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), in a statement, disowned the attack which came two days after Taliban declared a one-month ceasefire in order to pursue stalled peace negotiations with the government.
