Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif says US-Iran technical level talks under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding offer a significant opportunity for global peace.
He was speaking in Bürgenstock, Switzerland today ahead of the US-Iran technical-level talks.
Shehbaz Sharif expressed the hope that the summit will result in positive and tangible results, promoting peace and progress around the world.
He thanked the US, Iran, and Qatar for their role in continuing the process of negotiations.
The Prime Minister especially lauded Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir's role and perseverance throughout the process.
On the occasion, US Vice President J D Vance said today that we see a future where we all can work together to promote peace and prosperity.
He said President Trump has empowered the US delegation to reach a resolution on a host of issues, including the opening of the Strait of Hormuz.
The US Vice President was highly appreciative of Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces of Pakistan, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and said, we would not have been here without his statesmanship.
He said he has spoken to no one more frequently than the Field Marshal during the last three months.
