  • Zhally Sarhadi declares love for Karachi amid Saba Qamar city debate

Zhally Sarhadi has openly expressed her affection for Karachi, stepping into the ongoing debate sparked by actress Saba Qamar’s recent remarks about preferring Lahore and Islamabad over the coastal city.

The discussion began after Saba Qamar appeared on a podcast and was asked if she would ever consider permanently relocating to Karachi.

Her candid reply, “Astaghfirullah, never!”, quickly went viral. The Kamli star later clarified that her visits to the city are strictly work-related.

“I just go there, do my work, and return,” she explained with a laugh. She added she wouldn’t mind moving if someone gifted her a house there, “though I already have one.”

Saba Qamar’s comments sparked mixed reactions online. Some users criticized her for appearing dismissive toward Karachi, while others defended her personal preference. The debate soon drew responses from fellow celebrities.

Iffat Omar backed Qamar, calling her statement honest and not meant as an insult.

On the other hand, Javeria Saud disagreed, saying, “The city isn’t dirty; people’s minds are dirty,” in an Instagram post.

Actor Yasir Hussain joined the conversation with a humorous meme about Karachi, which Qamar reshared, writing: “You all are too funny. Peace, guys — Karachi is beautiful, just keep it clean, and it’ll have my whole heart.”

Amid the buzz, Zhally Sarhadi added her voice to the conversation, expressing her affection for Karachi.

In an Instagram post, she described the city as full of life and opportunity, saying, “Karachi may have its challenges, but its energy and spirit are unmatched. It’s a city that gives work, love, and strength to everyone who comes here.”

Her post struck a balanced tone, acknowledging the city’s struggles with pollution and infrastructure while appreciating its warmth and diversity.

Qamar’s comments seemed to question Karachi’s livability, while for others, they represented a simple matter of personal comfort and lifestyle.
