Classical singer Ustad Imdad Faqir once again staged a unique protest in Larkana on Wednesday. Accompanied by his family, the maestro gathered outside the local press club and began performing live, turning his music into a striking form of protest.
Ustad Imdad Faqir expressed his frustration over being sidelined despite years of affiliation with Radio Pakistan and PTV.
“I am a Double-A category classical artist, yet I haven’t been invited to perform in any programme for months,” he said, highlighting the lack of opportunities for established artists like him.
The poverty-stricken singer had also staged a similar protest last month.
“We are struggling to make ends meet,” he stressed.
The veteran artist appealed to the authorities to restore his performances at Radio Pakistan and PTV, allowing artists like him to continue earning through their craft.
