Saba Qamar offered fans a first look at her character Malika from the upcoming drama Pamaal, encouraging them to look deeper than what initially seems like a conventional love story.
After the teaser’s release, the award-winning actress shared a message on Instagram: “Many of you watched the teaser of Pamaal and assumed it’s just another love story — but trust me, it’s far from that.”
She went on to say, “This isn’t your typical girl-meets-boy fairytale; it’s about every woman who lost herself while trying to please everyone else.”
Describing the character’s journey, Saba said Malika’s story is ‘raw, real, and painfully close to what so many women go through every single day’. She emphasised that the narrative is deeply rooted in reality, highlighting the silent struggles women face within families and society.
“This isn’t fiction – it’s reality. These women exist in our society, in our homes, behind silent smiles,” she said, adding. “I’m 100% sure that 99% of women will see a part of themselves in Malika – in her silence, her strength, and in the storm she faces.”
Saba urged women to watch Pamaal not only to relate to the story, but also ‘to reflect, to heal, and to remember who they are.” She added, “This is more than just a drama… this is a mirror’.
Penned by acclaimed writer Zanjabeel Asim Shah, Pamaal is directed by Khizer Idrees and produced by Tehreem Chaudhary.
The drama is already generating buzz for its bold narrative and Saba’s emotionally charged performance.
