  • Seminar Spotlights Youth Empowerment for a Progressive Pakistan

A seminar titled “The Role of Youth as Global Leaders in an Emerging Pakistan” was held at the Islamic Research Institute to mark Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day.

The proceedings began with a dignified flag-hoisting ceremony and cake-cutting to celebrate the occasion.

The event was jointly organized by the International Islamic University and the Ministry of Education and Professional Training, alongside a national book exhibition to emphasize the importance of knowledge and learning.

Minister of State for Education and Professional Training Wajiha Qamar attended as Guest of Honor, while Federal Minister for Planning, Professor Ahsan Iqbal, graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

In his address, Professor Ahsan Iqbal remarked, “After the Marka-e-Haq, our challenge now is the Marka-e-Taraqqi (battle for progress).”

He highlighted that Pakistan’s future is bright and the next two decades are crucial for the country.

He stressed that peace, national cohesion, ending sectarianism and polarization, and youth fulfilling their civic responsibilities are essential for sustainable development and stability.

Minister Wajiha Qamar and other speakers emphasized that education forms the foundation of national progress.

They noted that the youth not only defended the ideological frontiers during the Marka-e-Haq but also demonstrated national unity by supporting Pakistan’s armed forces on social media.

The speakers further underscored that the youth are Pakistan’s greatest asset, and their sense of responsibility can help overcome polarization, contributing to a peaceful, united, and globally emerging Pakistan.

A large number of students participated in the seminar, while Minister Wajiha Qamar formally inaugurated the national book exhibition, reinforcing the role of education and knowledge in shaping the country’s future.
